Sometimes solving problems is easy – sometimes it can be a challenge that needs some thinking and not giving up. Whatever the problem these problem solving steps are a good way of tackling all problems.

So go to it!

Step 1 - What is the problem?

You need to work out exactly what the problem is before you can start to solve it, so ask yourself, "what's the problem?"

Step 2 - How do you feel?

There's a good chance you will have "upset" type of feelings when you are dealing with a big problem. What are those feelings?

Step 3 - Make a plan

Think of different solutions to solve the problem.

Will it make the problem bigger or smaller? Use the Solutions Wheel to give you ideas about different solutions. Choose a solution.

Step 4 - Take Action

Put your plan to work. Give your solution a go. What happened?

Step 5 - Check up

If the problem doesn't get smaller, don't give up, try another solution.Check how you are feeling.
