Josh's Texta Problem

A story about Conflict and different ways to handle it...

Here is a short story about two friends, Josh and Matt.

Josh and Matt sit next to each other in class, they have become good friends this year. It was Josh's birthday recently and he had a party and invited ten friends and of course Matt was one of them.

Josh gota box of special glow textas for his birthday and he has been bringing them to school for his research poster. Matt has been using the textas too.

Josh is beginning to feel annoyed because some of the textas are starting to run out and some of the tips are getting bent. He doesn't really want Matt to use his textas but he doesn't know how to tell him. Josh is also worried that Matt will not be his friend if he doesn't let him use his textas.

How will they solve the problem?

Josh says : "No! Get lost, they're mine and I'm sick of you using them". He tries to grab them back from Matt. Matt holds onto them tightly. They start wrestling for the textas.

Josh and Matt argue over textas

Josh's problem is Bigger

Josh keeps lending his textas to Matt even though he is feeling angry about it.

Matt and Josh

Josh's problem is Bigger

Josh thinks it's a good idea to talk to Matt and tell him how he is feeling. (In class they have been learning about communication and how it is important to talk to the person who is bugging you).

Josh and Matt have a good talk and Matt ends up understanding that Josh is feeling annoyed about him using his textas. Matt tells Josh that he can't find his own textas and he didn't think that Josh would care if he used his new ones. Josh has an idea! He suggests that he and Matt have a big search for Matt's textas and guess what? Matt finds his textas at the bottom of his school bag along with a very rotten sandwich! Josh is happy that he has full use of his textas again & Matt is happy that he has found his own.
