What is stress?

Stress – What is it?  People talk about it, we hear about it on the television and read about it in the newspapers. Stress seems to be a topic of interest for many people.

Everyone has stress in their lives.

The important point is that stress can be either positive or negative.

POSITIVE STRESS WORKS FOR US

and

NEGATIVE STRESS WORKS AGAINST US

One of the main messages we get about stress is that it is a something we need to keep under control. We also are told it is important to relax more and this will help us control stress. Both these messages are important if we want to live our lives to the fullest.

So what exactly is stress

There is no easy answer to this question because stress can be described in different ways.

When people talk about stress they are either talking about – THE EVENT (What caused the stress?).

or

THE CHANGES TO A PERSON’S BODY, WAY OF THINKING and FEELINGS (What happens to a person's mind & body).
